Kids "R" Kids Houston has agreed to become a corporate partner and will sponsor the Skeeters mascot, which will be unveiled on Thursday, December 1st at 10 am at Kids "R" Kids Learning Academy at 11118 Hwy 6 South in Sugar Land.
"It is a great fit to find a company like Kids "R‟ Kids that has the same philosophy that we do, and that is they‟re about kids and so are we," said Christopher Hill, Skeeters Vice President for Business Development. "We feel this partnership is all about providing wonderful opportunities for the children of Greater Houston. Plus, our mascot is a character that is always with us, whether it is the preseason, postseason or off season. It will be a very visable part of this community just like Kids "R‟ Kids."
"Kids "R‟ Kids Schools & Academies are thrilled to sponsor the Sugar Land Skeeters‟ mascot," said John Carroll, owner of Kids „R‟ Kids #11 in Sugar Land. "A major part of Kids "R‟ Kids‟ core philosophy is to strengthen families through the education and care we provide for over 8,000 Houston area children. Because the Sugar Land Skeeters organization is also focused on providing high quality family-friendly activities, we look forward to a fun and enter-taining partnership."
Seen as the identity of a minor league baseball team, the yet-to-be-named mascot will be sponsored by Kids "R‟ Kids. As the cornerstone of the partnership, the Kids "R‟ Kids logo will be represented on the mascot, including the mascot‟s uniforms, baseball cards, storybooks, autograph cards and giveaway items. Also, Kids "R‟ Kids is the official sponsor of the annual mascot contest, beginning with the "Name the Mascot" contest that begins on Friday.
To celebrate the new mascot, Kids "R‟ Kids also will sponsor a full-color, sixteen-page comic book to be handed out at all mascot events and appearances. The comic book is currently being illustrated and describes the mascot‟s origin.
Also included in the corporate partnership is sponsorship of the Kids "R‟ Kids Baseball Buddies. The Kids "R‟ Kids Baseball Buddies is a youth program geared towards local little leagues, providing the "selected" team 15 tickets to a game and an opportunity to stand on the field with the Skeeters during the National Anthem. Kids "R‟ Kids will pro-vided specified locations for youth-team registration, while this unique, community-focused event provides Kids "R‟ Kids an opportunity to reach its target audience.
